Casting for Recovery offers these outdoor healing retreats at no cost to participants, each of whom finds inspiration, discovers renewed energy for life, and experiences healing connections with other women and the great outdoors. Aid in healing
For women who have had surgery or radiation therapy as part of their treatment, Nelson says the gentle peach motions can be good physical therapy to increase arm and upper body mobility. Fishing also provides an opportunity for mindfulness – a meditative exercise that brings calm and awareness to the present moment – which can be extremely helpful for health and healing.
