Zimbabwe: Air Zimbabwe, airport partner company, Sanganai Hlanganani World Tourism Expo

The Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo continues to attract quality and credible sponsors, as evidenced by the arrival on board of Air Zimbabwe and the Airports Company of Zimbabwe for the upcoming expo to be held from 13 to October 15.

The 15th Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo will be held in Bulawayo and is expected to build on the successes of previous editions.

The event provides excellent brand exposure opportunities for exhibiting companies, partners and sponsors.

Speaking on the partnership with the Expo, the Managing Director of Airports Company, Mr. Tawanda Gusha said, “The Airports Company of Zimbabwe (Private) Limited will be partnering with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority on this year’s edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo.

“Aviation and tourism are closely linked and interdependent; growth in domestic tourism translates directly into growth in passenger and aircraft movements at airports, making it a win-win partnership.

“The tourism and travel industries have been most affected by the global Covid-19 pandemic. The Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo offers a unique opportunity for business recovery and this year the event is attracting buyers from around the world, making it the perfect platform for this strategic partnership.”

Airports Company operates a network of eight airports strategically located throughout the country, providing direct and quick access to tourist resorts and commercial areas of the country.

The three main international airports are: Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare and currently being upgraded, Victoria Falls International Airport and Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo.

Five other smaller airports are mainly served by charter operators, with the exception of Kariba which now has scheduled service.

These five airports are: Kariba International Airport, Charles Prince International Airport, Hwange National Park Airport, Masvingo International Airport and Buffalo Range International Airport.

Plans are underway to establish three more airports at Gweru, Beitbridge and Mutare.

Also speaking on the partnership with the exhibition, Acting Managing Director of Air Zimbabwe, Mr. Tafadzwa Zaza said, “Air Zimbabwe is delighted to partner with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority as official partner airline of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo from 13 to 15 October 2022.

“This exhibition, the first after an extended suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic, is a business opportunity for all travel and tourism stakeholders, Air Zimbabwe included.”

Air Zimbabwe has introduced additional capacity for local and overseas inbound visitors.

The partnership includes, among other things, domestic flights for the winners of a familiarization trip to Zimbabwe during the Dubai 2020 Expo held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from October 2021 to March 2022.

The partnership will also include co-branding on advertising and other in-flight activities and prizes on the public day.

Welcoming the partnerships, ZTA Managing Director Ms. Winnie Muchanyuka said, “I would like to congratulate Airports Company of Zimbabwe and Air Zimbabwe for accepting their various sponsorship packages for the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo. .
